This weekend was the annual “Pledge Sunday” for the Diocese of Birmingham Catholic Charities Campaign. Our parish goal is $135,106 – only a slight increase over last year. Bishop Baker has asked us to be generous this year and help raise beyond our goal, if possible, with a view to the upcoming celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the Diocese in 2019 — which will include a Eucharistic Congress. I ask that all take part in this charitable effort! Please make a pledge — payments begin in January — or even if you are unable to make a pledge, please make a one-time gift of any amount. If we all chip in together, we will meet our goal and help our Bishop as he shepherds the Diocese toward its anniversary and then the announcement of his successor (2019 is also the year that Bishop Baker turns 75 and will have to submit his resignation to the Holy See). Thank you for your generous support!
Pledge cards were mailed home, but if you did not get one or need another one, they are available in church – or you can go to the Catholic Charities web site and pledge or donate online here: http://www.catholiccharitiesbhm.org/
