ANNOUNCING THE FIFTH SEASON of the DOWNTOWN CONCERT SERIES at the Cathedral of Saint Paul – for 2026-2027! Download the season flyer HERE.

This concert series seeks to bring the best of art and sacred music to our Cathedral as an offering to our parish, our city, our diocese. This year includes one of France’s most-acclaimed organists, closer-to-home organ talent of a similar stature, a polyphony double-billing you won’t want to miss, the return of the University of Montevallo Choirs (welcome back!), our beloved “A Cathedral Christmas”, and more!

Each month from September 2026 through May 2027 (except January), we will offer free concerts by musicians chosen from among the best local, national, and even international talent. Desiring especially to showcase the recently-completed Anna Catharine Grace Memorial Pipe Organ, our season this year includes several notable organists.

All concerts are offered free of charge and are hosted inside the Cathedral church, located at 2120 3rd Ave N, Birmingham, AL 35203 (parking information here). We encourage all to dress in “smart casual” or better. Consider combining your concert attendance with supper out at one of our fine downtown Birmingham restaurants. Off-duty police security will be on site at the Cathedral during each concert, for everyone’s safety and comfort.

This series is made possible due to your generosity! If you are interested in sponsoring all or part of a concert or in becoming a Sustainer of our high-quality program of Sacred Music at Saint Paul’s, please contact Bruce E. Ludwick, Jr., Director of Music and Organist of the Cathedral, for more information: Ludwick@stpaulsbhm.org. Appropriate donor recognition will be given in program notes and spoken announcements.
