Confessions

Monday-Friday 11:30am -12:00pm
Saturday 3:00pm – 4:30pm
Sunday during the 8:30am & 11:00am Masses most weeks
or by appointment

The main confessional is located in the back of the church (to the left as you walk through the center doors). A second confessional is near the statue of St. Joseph on the right-hand side, near the sanctuary. Whenever possible, two priests are available during the scheduled time. The name of the priest hearing confessions is often displayed on the confessional door. Look to see if the priest is in the confessional and the red/green lights on to know where to form a line. Please maintain a respectful distance for the privacy of all involved.

CONFESSION DURING SUNDAY MASS: This is provided whenever an extra priest is available at the 8:30am and 11:00am Masses (most weeks). The priest may have to leave in time to assist with Holy Communion. Line up near the large statue of St. Anthony in the back of the church and maintain a respectful distance. The practice of hearing confessions during Mass is still very common in some places (like Mexico, Italy, and Great Britain); it used to be more common in the United States and is a very traditional practice. Going to confession during a Sunday Mass does not negatively affect your Sunday obligation. We are glad that we can often provide this option at the Cathedral of Saint Paul!
